As a result of the Munich Agreement, the subsequent invasion of the German Wehrmacht and the annexation of the Sudetenland to the Third Reich, the bunkers came under German control without a fight. Thus, the backbone of Czechoslovak defense was shattered by a political-diplomatic action.
