The old watchtower is in the middle of the forest. The 'dead angle' along the Main of Wertheim Castle used to be monitored from here. In case of danger, signs were given to the castle. A few years ago you could still climb to the top. The ascent is now blocked.

Watchtower overlooking the Main River and Wertheim Castle. It was formerly used as an external watchtower. In my youth, the tower was open. However, due to a great deal of mischief, it is now permanently closed. The locals in Wertheim nickname the tower the 'Mouse Tower'.
