As part of the “Große Heide Landscape Development” project, the new 1.70 m high viewing platform was opened in February 2023. It cost “only” €27,447.09 and offers a view of the landscape and the meadow pond, which provides an important feeding and resting place for many bird species.

You shouldn't expect a rustic moorland landscape when walking around the promising-sounding Stapelfelder Moor: meadows and open spaces dominate the landscape.

There's not really much to see from the viewing platform, cows grazing in the pasture and a waterhole in the distance.
