Location: Steinebach an der Wied, Westerwaldkreis, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany
Here on the outskirts of Steinebach begins the Wiedtal, which initially meanders through the Hatterter Grund and then extends through the Sieg-Westerwald and Rhine-Westerwald to the confluence with the Rhine at Neuwied. As part of the Wiedweg, in 2007 Steinebach created a sculpture park in the extensive Bachaue. Five sculptures with accompanying information boards were created on the Wied by local artists, including a pilgrim cross, the symbolized source of the Heiligenborn and a basalt column with reference to the Wied as a flowing water that characterizes the natural area.
