Ice cellar: In the 17th century the Schaep family built an ice cellar. Ice was stored in this well-insulated space in winter, which remained frozen until summer. This is how the food for the country house was cooled. The ice cellar was restored in 1985 by Natuurmonumenten and given a new function. It is now a hibernation site for bats. The former ice cellar is a pleasant bat hotel due to the limited air flow and the stable climate inside.
