A legendary mountain tour across Germany's second-highest peak: long, challenging, and exposed, with fantastic views. Stable weather, surefootedness, a head for heights, and alpine experience are essential! The traverse is not for the inexperienced, as it is extremely demanding both technically and physically. Along the route, there are several climbing sections secured with wire ropes, but also some unsecured passages. Extreme caution is required, especially on the extremely long (2000m) descent from the southern peak to the Wimbachgries, as steepness and loose scree, combined with fatigue, have caused many accidents.
