Hiking Highlight
This 32-meter-high fire tower is located on the De Utrecht estate (between the Belgian border and Esbeek).
Now partly hidden behind tall trees and surrounded by beautiful oaks and rhododendrons.
The almost symmetrical tower is a real eye-catcher! If you drive from Hilvarenbeek to Lage Mierde, you will see the building looming through the trees on the right side of the road.

The Landgoed De Utrecht:
2,500 hectares perfect
Hiking area, surrounded by beautiful nature with many lakes and just as many and beautiful highlights.
However, you should have backpacking with you, because there are only a few places to rest.
In the corner of Dun, in the middle of the forest on the Liesdijk, belonging to the village of Esbeek, there is a rustic retreat that has it all.
-The Bockenreyder-
There are plenty of outdoor seating and a great menu for hungry hikers and cyclists, but you should not pay attention to calories.
The seats in the restaurant are limited.
But the service is friendly, courteous and nice.
Here you are welcome to come in and will certainly be happy to return ..

On the De Utrecht estate, located between the Belgian border and Esbeek, there is still a 32 meter high fire tower. It is an almost symmetrical tower, with the forestry office on the ground floor, a real eye-catcher. To keep a little overview, so-called fire towers were built in wooded areas. However, the towers lost their function during the 1980s.
