A gorgeous part of the long-distance Ebor Way trail. From the southern end (where you walk on the edge of the forest), there are fantastic views south to Oswaldkirk Bank (where the B1257 goes). Then, through the forest, you walk along a nice, comfortable and peaceful track to Sproxton Hall.

The bit on the edge of the forest can be overgrown. Nothing too bad, but you’ll feel like you've been one of the first people here for a while. It has that sense of remoteness, even though you're less than 4 miles (6.4km) from the town of Helmsley.
