The cattle shed built in 1913 in the Heimatschutz style by the architect Johann Theede (1876 - 1934) was designed in the form of a brick basilica and expanded by later additions. Inside, the imposing iron construction with a skylight has been preserved. After livestock markets in public places were banned by the livestock epidemic law of 1909, the weekly piglet and pig market in Rendsburg had to be moved from Schlossplatz to the livestock hall specially built near the freight depot. Livestock auctions were held in the Nordmarkhalle until 1993, since when weekly markets and events have taken place here instead of. 1999 - 2000 the building was extended by a metal and glass cube. In the vernacular, the popular event hall was given the nickname "Bullentemple".
