The Wagonwheel Trail is a popular trail that runs from Forest Road #084, or Recapture Road, to the south, to Forest Road #087, or South Creek Road, to the north. This is a popular trail that is relatively flat, with a few hillier sections, and travels through ponderosa pine forest, and crosses Verdure Creek. Near the Forest Road #087/South Creek Road (northern) trailhead, you pass through a truly incredible aspen grove.
