The Camp Jackson Trail is a double-track trail that initially descends a through a pine, spruce, and scrub oak forest to a meadow. After this, the trail begins a long, steady climb toward the Camp Jackson Reservoir, which is a small lake on private property. As you climb, you pass through more pine and oak trees getting amazing views of South Peak to the east and Bear Ears to the southwest from the top of a steep ridge. As you near the end of the trail, groves aspen trees begin to appear, which are especially amazing in the fall as their leaves turn from green to gold.
