The old city quarter "Nikolaiviertel" forms a relaxed counterpoint to the pedestrian zone. Many small and fine shops have settled on the cobblestone streets, probably the oldest in the city. Here you can feel peace and serenity with a special offer - from glasses, high-quality fashion, jewelry, fair trade and beautiful things for the house and garden to a cozy café. The streets "Kleine Kirchenstraße", "Bergstraße", "Nikolaigang" and the Lambertihof make up the Nikolaiviertel.

Bergstrasse is probably the most romantic and most frequently photographed street in Oldenburg. It also leads up to the highest point of the pedestrian zone, an impressive 7.30 meters above sea level.
