Ebeltoft is for me with its curvy cobblestone streets and leaning half-timbered houses in front of which hollyhocks grow one of the most beautiful cities in Denmark.
She is especially known for her old town hall, Det Gamle Rådhus. People from all over the world come here to be married in this old city hall. And, since Ebeltoft literally means "hill with apples", the couples get a green glass apple as a souvenir after the wedding ceremony.
That this apple is made of glass is no coincidence. Glasswork occupies an important place in Ebeltoft. For example, the glass workshop Pust, very close to the water, is especially beautiful.
You can stroll through the picturesque alleys of Ebeltoft and explore the many sights and pretty little shops.
Whoever is in Ebeltoft, is not allowed to miss the Museum Farvergården. Not only is this one of the most beautiful half-timbered houses and courtyards in the city, but also the only preserved dye-house of a merchant town in Europe.
