The Piave Vecchia Chiesanuova. A singular river, an ancient Plavense riverbed stretching out to encircle the entire north-eastern edge of the Venice lagoon, has appeared for approximately three centuries transformed into a hydraulic link road connecting and biologically exchanging between the two different river ecosystems represented by the Sile and the Piave. The waters of the Sile, of spring origin, reach Caposile through the Taglio del Sile and are partly pushed up the same Piave Vecchia riverbed until they merge into the new Plavense riverbed.
