The church in Alt Sammit was built in 1650 after the previous church was destroyed during the Thirty Years' War. In the centuries after it was built, it was repeatedly rebuilt until a tree finally fell on it in May 1944, rendering it unusable. It was not until 1984 - the church was now in ruins - that an alliance was formed and began reconstruction.
