From Rottenstein you have a beautiful view to the southwest of the Haßberge foothills. Above the picturesque town of the same name (3 km northwest of Hofheim-Eichelsdorf) is the Burgstall Rottenstein on the castle and palace hiking trail, whose history goes back to the early Middle Ages (8th - 10th centuries).

Cycling

Here an old rock cellar was renovated and prepared. Now you can store food in it again. A shelter was also created for bats. The view from up here is very beautiful. It's only a few minutes to Rennweg. You can reach the Schwedenschanze via a slightly ascending forest path.
