The Jacob Berger House, or the Sally Carrighar House, just west of downtown Nome is a two-story Victorian mansion, built during the Nome Gold Rush in 1903-04. Built by miner Jacob Berger, he imported top-quality materials brought in from west coast ports, and it was specially designed to withstand Nome's harsh climate. This iconic house is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
