Cool, the villa is also illuminated in the evening, so that you can still see something here at the late end of a tour!
Remains of a multi-colored floor mosaic and wall cladding made of black marble still testify to the splendid furnishings of the rooms.
Two cubic corner buildings with an intervening columned hall (portico) from the 2nd century AD, later expanded to 48 by 29 meters and 34 rooms.
Between 1983 and 1987 the manor house was uncovered, preserved and partially reconstructed.

This partially reconstructed Roman farmhouse, with a hot and cold bath and a latrine, was originally built between the 2nd and 5th centuries AD. In addition to its convenient location, the beautiful setting with sweeping views across the Moselle River is said to have been a decisive factor in the site's selection. Finds of gold glasses and silver spoons, as well as a mosaic floor, testify to the high standard of living.Opening hours:Open year-round, free to the public.Tours of the villa are available from April to October on Sundays at 11:30 a.m. or by appointment.Info: trier-info.de/roem-villa-mehring-info
