This impressive building suddenly appears and is a reminder of the times when not only people, but above all ores, iron and industrial goods were transported along the tracks it carried between the Salzbödetal and the Lahn-Dill industrial areas.

The Aar Salzböde Railway, which was partially closed in 1995 and completely closed in 2001, was built between 1899 and 1902. The construction of the section from Wommelshausen to Eisemroth required three viaducts at Wommelshausen-Hütte, Endbach and Hartenrod as well as a 700 meter tunnel (west of Hartenrod). This is the smallest of these three viaducts.
