Historical interpretation:
The first aircraft in Zeeland
Soon after the first flights took place, flying demonstrations were also given in Zeeland. But the first aircraft that regularly visited Zeeland mainly had to do with the First World War. The Netherlands was neutral, but the province was not far from the front. The airspace was regularly violated by German and especially English aircraft. There were mistaken bombings and, because the technology was still in its infancy, many emergency landings on the wide beach of Cadzand. These aircraft were subsequently added to the Dutch military fleet.
