The current building was built on the remains of a previous building from the early medieval period. Even of the subsequent Romanesque building, dating back to the early 12th century, few elements remain, such as the gabled façade and the bell tower, having been heavily modified over the centuries and in particular between 1853 and 1854. Another interesting architectural element The apse decorated with pilasters dates back to the construction.
