At the gates of Bad Oeynhausen, the Weser rafters have been commemorated. Rafter is an extinct profession. Not only the Weser was used until the 1960s as a means of transport to transport with the help of the flow logs from A to B. The task of the raftsmen was to bind the logs together with willow branches and to launch the resulting raft with up to nine logs in a controlled way to the timber handling stations.
