Kilmartin village is quiet, remote and unassuming and hosts some of the most important neolithic and bronze age remains in the UK. They are older than the Egyptian pyramids and most likely built 5,000 years ago, so they say.

Visit the museum and cafe in the village to find out about the ancient history here, from the cairn burial mounds to the stone grave slabs.

This cairn has an area you can step down into the burial area. A good walk from the car park, and great views along the Glen.
