The forge and the so-called “blacksmith’s gate” form a structural unit. The gate was built in 1631 and is reminiscent of the former village fortifications, which originally included three other gates. The blacksmith's shop dates back to around 1900. Anyone who enters the room has the impression that the blacksmith only left the room briefly. You can also see some agricultural equipment such as a scythe, a flax crusher or a carving bench - what were they good for?

Another small exhibition tells about the church building, the history of the place and settlements and graves from prehistory. Thematic areas in the archeology museum are dedicated to a Neolithic burial chamber and a Hallstatt period wagon grave.

Großeibstadt was first mentioned as “Ibesstat” in 786. In 1459 a church dedicated to St. John the Baptist was built. In 1614, under Julius Echter, a new church and vicarage were built.
