The post-pond, which was dammed around 1655 by the accumulation of the Holzbaches, forms with the Brinkenweiher and Hausweiher a so-called pond chain. Back then, day-trippers were looking for fun and relaxation here as hikers or in winter for skating.
In 1912, a jetty was first approved at the post office. 1929 was the beach Freilingen, to which only after 1950 the campsite was created. Today, the Postweiher is still managed as a recreational water with a campsite and beach. Tourism and nature conservation are important uses at the Lake District.de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Postweiher

The Postweiher (also Freilinger Weiher) is a 13-acre pond on the Westerwald Lake District. It is connected to the Brinkenweiher and Hausweiher via lockable channels and lies between Freilingen and stones. In autumn, the water is drained from the pond.
The post-pond was built around 1655 by the damming of Holzbaches at the request of Frederick III. from Wied and was used for fish farming. 1912, a bathing jetty was approved, from the 1929 Strandbad Freilingen was created. 1950, a campground was created south of the beach.
