The Postweiher, which was dammed around 1655 by damming the Holzbach, forms a so-called pond chain with the Brinkenweiher and Hausweiher. At that time, day trippers came here for fun and relaxation as hikers or in winter for ice skating.
In 1912, a bathing jetty was approved for the first time at the Postweiher. The Freilingen lido was built in 1929 and the campsite was not built until after 1950. Today the Postweiher is still managed as a recreational waterway with a campsite and a bathing beach. Tourism and nature conservation represent important interests in the lake district.
