Reutlingen City Hall since 2013
A prominent feature of the cityscape since 2013
Reutlingen City Hall opened on January 5, 2013. This striking building, designed by architect Max Dudler, has since replaced its predecessor, the Friedrich List Hall, which had been Reutlingen's event venue since 1938. Emerging from the proposals of the Bruderhausgelände – Neue Stadthalle ideas competition, Max Dudler won the implementation and architectural competition for the new city hall in 2008.
The groundbreaking ceremony took place on November 6, 2009, and the foundation stone was laid on July 2, 2010, in the presence of over 500 Reutlingen residents and many honored guests. A time capsule containing some coins, the building plans, the city council's building resolution, current editions of local daily newspapers, the press review of the city hall, and the foundation stone laying certificate gave this moment a touch of eternity.
