This area is named after the loss of Spanish lives when a storm wrecked the Spanish Armada here in 1588.
This is a lovely beach which is often much quieter than nearby Lahinch. There is a coffee shop and ice cream parlour at the top.

Spanish Point Beach is one of those places that is surrounded by history, yet the scenery is anything but past. As you roll along the coast on your bike, the wide sandy beach opens up before you - a tranquil contrast to lively Lahinch. The waves roll gently onto the shore and the wide view over the sea invites you to just stop and enjoy the expanse.

When you arrive at the top of the beach, you will find a small cafe and ice cream parlor where you can take a short break after cycling. The environment here is rather quiet, which makes for a pleasant riding experience, away from the hustle and bustle of the more touristy beaches. In the footsteps of the past, yet anchored in the present - Spanish Point is a stop that fits comfortably into your cycling adventure in West Clare.
The beach is also good for a quick cool-down of your feet.
