The Sentiero delle Due Rocche runs along the ridge of the Asolo hills in their entire length, connecting the two fortresses of Asolo and Cornuda. The fortress of Cornuda actually no longer exists: it has been replaced for centuries by the Sanctuary of the Rocca, on a beautiful panoramic point. It is an ancient connection route followed by generations of farmers, shepherds and woodcutters. Along the route there are also testimonies of the First World War (observatories, trenches and cave deposits): from here the Italians controlled and bombed the Piave front. The route is not exactly on the ridge and panoramic, but mostly winds along the northern side, covered in the woods: to have wide views over the entire Po Valley it is necessary to take short detours to the south: one of all, the beautiful balcony panoramic view of the San Giorgio hill, halfway along the route. The length of 15km return, the continuous ups and downs (for a total difference in altitude of 500 metres) and the labyrinth of variations make it an excellent and popular workout for trail running and mountain biking. A fun, challenging and varied trail.
