Temple of Venus was built in 1730 as an open rotunda as eight Tuscan columns under an octagonal dome. The structure collapsed in 1940s, but the statue of Venus still can be seen today; not here, though, but in the Rose Garden nearby.

Castle Howard‘s lost temple. Commissioned in the 1730‘s with a lead statue of Venus de Medici, this temple unfortunately no longer exists.

If you approach this via the public footpaths from Bog Hall (i.e., you haven't paid to enter the Castle Howard grounds), then you won't see much more than the wall that surrounds the ruins.
