In the information house you can find out all sorts of interesting facts about the landscape and cultural history of the heath. There is an information film about the Heidschnucken and lots of information about the special biodiversity of this habitat. I recommend that you plan a little time here.

Fischbeker Heide is located south of the Elbe in the Harburg Mountains and is the third largest nature reserve in Hamburg with approx. 770 ha. The beauties of the moorland and the Harburger mountains with the game park "Black Mountains" make this area an important and heavily visited local recreation area of Hamburg.

The last flock of Heidschnucken in this area is also worth seeing. Shepherd and herding dog lead her daily into the heath and drive her back in the afternoon. The nature conservation information house "Schafstall" on Fischbeker Heideweg is also worth a visit.

Here you can find out more about the background of the area or explore it using the interesting and informative display boards. In addition to several showcases which show the "residents" of the Fischbeker Heide to the viewer, exhibitions from various associations that are active within this area can often be examined.

The information center is currently being redesigned. New light and new showcases appear.

A visit to the Fischbeker Heidehaus is both informative and exciting:

"At six themed tables, visitors learn interesting facts about the landscape and cultural history of the heath. A film station makes the Heidschnucken herd come alive throughout the year, tadpoles and sundew can be observed in the aquarium or the peculiarities of the heath can be discovered in a species treasure chest.

A large media boulder looks beyond the edge of Fischbeker and shows heath areas and places of excursions in Hamburg and the metropolitan region. "
