Hiking

The sanctuary of the Blessed Virgin of Graces of Udine flourished as the guardian of a miraculous image of the Mother of God. In the second half of the 15th century Friuli was under the dominion of the Venetian Republic and in January 1479 he was appointed lieutenant of the Venetian government knight Giovanni Emo. He jealously preserved a painting of the Madonna in the castle of Udine, where he lived, which he is said to have received as a gift from the sultan of Constantinople.
