The stadium was put into use in 1932. It was rebuilt several times, e.g. in 1949, as part of preparations for an international friendly match against Sokol Brno, two ticket offices and a section of a brick fence were built, and the fans, together with the players, built a 100-meter-long covered stand. In the 21st century, the stadium was completely reconstructed. In the 1970s, the capacity of the stadium was over 10,000, while today it is 3,500. The highest attendance before the reconstruction of the stadium was 15,000 during the match of the 1/16 of the Polish Cup against Widzew Łódź, and after the reconstruction 3,500, during the last two matches of the 2012 season / 2013 ended with the promotion of Chojniczanka to the first league. Currently, league and cup matches of the first-league Chojniczanka Chojnice are held there. Polish representatives played at the stadium in cup matches against Chojniczanka, e.g. Zbigniew Boniek, Władysław Antoni Żmuda, Krzysztof Surlit, Włodzimierz Smolarek, Sebastian Murawski.

In September 2015, the modernization of the stadium was completed.

The Chojniczanka Chojnice Sports Club was registered on March 10, 1930, and its founders were: Stanisław Karczewski, Jan Schreiber, Brunon Nurnberg, Dagobert Nurnberg, Willi Doege and Franciszek Madziąg. Stanisław Karczewski was elected the first president. Even in 1930, the delegate of the Polish Football Association, prof. Gruziński from Tczew (president of the local Wisła) came to Chojnice to recruit the club under the aegis of the PZPN. The team was qualified for class B games, in which participated, among others: Bałtyk Gdynia, Wisła Tczew, Unia Tczew, Amator Bydgoszcz and Czarni Nakło. Initially, the matches were held in a sandy pitch three kilometers from the city center in the city forest, unfenced and bringing little income. The small financial resources at the club's disposal were used to pay for trips to matches and purchase the most necessary football equipment. In 1932, the Municipal Stadium Chojniczanka 1930, located in the city center, was opened, as a result of which the interest in football in Chojnice increased, attendance at training sessions increased, and more and more fans came to matches. In the same year, a second senior team of Chojniczanka was also formed, which for financial reasons played matches mainly with local rivals. In 1935, Chojniczanka had a chance to be promoted to class A (equivalent to today's second division). The play-offs with Bałtyk Gdynia decided about entering the higher league. The first match was played in Chojnice and ended in a 1:1 draw. The second leg in Gdynia was also inconclusive and ended with the score 0:0. In order to select the class B champion, the District Football Association ordered an additional match to be played on a neutral pitch in Grudziądz. Neither team scored during normal time. No goals were scored in overtime. Then the match referee decided to play to the first goal scored. It was scored in the 135th minute of the match by the players of Bałtyk Gdynia. In the following years, until the outbreak of World War II, Chojniczanka Chojnice played in class B. During the war, the club suspended its activities.
