This is a great bike path, in the middle of the city and in the middle of nature.

Wonderful cycle path always along the Spree and through the middle of Cottbus.

Anyone cycling the Spree Cycle Path in Cottbus will experience a rare, harmonious mix of urban proximity and nature. The route largely follows the river and runs on well-maintained, paved paths – sometimes paved, sometimes fine gravel. What's particularly pleasant: no car traffic, no constant stopping – just let it roll. The route leads through green riverbanks, past parkland such as Blechenpark or Branitzer Park (possible with a short detour), and is shaded almost throughout. A real advantage in summer.Especially through Cottbus, the route is intuitive but not completely signposted – if you're not using a navigation system, you should check the map at the junctions. The sections along the Spree arms are particularly beautiful, where cyclists, walkers, and joggers share the space – usually with consideration. Conclusion: The section through Cottbus isn't a scenic highlight, but it's a green, relaxing ride – perfect for staying at your own pace. Ideal as a start or conclusion to a longer tour.
