Around 1750 a small chapel was built on the Lindenberg near Gerblingerode (Gerblingeröder Klus). When a cholera epidemic broke out in Gerblingerode about 100 years later, the community members vowed to hold a procession to the Klus every year. The procession was held annually until 1945. After the border was drawn, it fell into disrepair and was demolished in the 1960s during the GDR era. Today, wooden crosses, an image of the Mother of God and a place of prayer are reminiscent of the chapel.

Somewhat hidden there is a shady place to rest. An information sign from the historical city guide of Duderstadt provides further information. Here you can enjoy the idyll and tranquility of the forest.
