The Malpaís ("wasteland") of Rasca is a rugged landscape formed by lava flows, seemingly from another planet. It offers many beautiful hiking trails through barren terrain with vibrant colors, cacti, and a rocky coastline leading to the lighthouse on the south side. Absolutely stunning! 🤩

Hiking
The nature reserve is a dry, dusty plain between the town of Palm-Mar and the Faro Punta de la Rasca lighthouse to the south. The area is bordered to the west by the rugged rocky coast, to the east by the volcanic cone of the Roque de Rasca. The vegetation consists mostly of partly huge cactus bushes .... an actually desolate area, but still beautiful. When the weather is good, be sure to wear sunscreen and drink enough water.
