The church in Wippershain, the largest building in the office, was destroyed by Croatian troops during the Thirty Years' War in 1634 and rebuilt in Kassel in 1680 after petitions to the sovereign and furnished with a Reformed pastor. It was rebuilt in 1783 in the style of the time; further transformations took place between 1953 and 1955.

In the evangelical church community, which has around 550 members, a half pastor's position has been set up. The parish has a parish hall and runs a kindergarten with one group. The parish supports a children's and youth choir.
