Waldhessen Cycle Route R12: Friedlos–Rohrbach Section

The new cycle route, or part of it, through the Rohrbachtal. Good to drive for everyone.

Branching off from the Fulda cycle path, the regional Hessian cycle path Waldhessen R12 leads through the Rohrbachtal. The Rohrbachtal is also called "Besengrund", after the crafts of broom makers and basket makers that used to be practiced here. The section between Friedlos and Rohrbach was expanded in 2018 and provided with an asphalt surface. There are two variants from Rohrbach to Tann: on the new paved cycle path parallel to the country road or above the village past the church on an easy-to-drive dirt road. The aim of the municipality of Ludwigsau is to continue the expansion of the R12 cycle path to Niederthalhausen.
