The zoo pond is located on the outskirts of Püchern, northwest of Wurzen, in the district of Leipzig. The approximately 3-hectare lake is wooded on the south-western shore. There is a wide reed belt on the north bank, while the north-east bank, on Dögnitzer Straße, is covered with green grass. From here you have a wonderful view over the lake directly to the village of Püchau with the church and castle.
