Susan Philipsz - The lost reflection

Every Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. an aria can be heard under the Tormin Bridge at Lake Aasee,

Susan Philipsz sings the barcarole from Jacques Offenbach's opera The Tales of Hoffmann.

The score is based on the story of the lost reflection of E.T.A. Hoffmann perish.
She tells of the charm of the courtesan Giulietta, to which the men succumb and give her their reflection, so that neither the woman nor the children recognize her.

The action takes place in Venice, and when Susan Philipsz uses loudspeakers to send her voice across Lake Aasee to the other shore and back again, the lagoon city with its canals is not far away.
The human voice cannot change the space in which it is heard, but it completely changes the experience of the space.

Bridge in the middle of Lake Aasee. Here you can simply shorten your running laps by half.

This 1989 successor to the old Tormin Bridge fits into the park-like recreational area of Lake Aasee without impairing the view of the city's silhouette. On the way around Lake Aasee you can enjoy the view of the city skyline from the extended bridgeheads and small pulpits.
