The Claudius memorial stone is in the first Wandsbeker wood at the level of the parish hall. It was built in 1840 on the 100th birthday of Matthias Claudius (1740-1815), Wandsbek's most famous citizen. In addition to the life data of the poet, who lived in Wandsbek for almost 45 years, he bears the emblems of the "Wandsbeker Bote". It has been a listed building since 1943.
