This point is named Echo Point because if you shout across the lake, the limestone cliffs on the opposite side of Lake Byllesby will echo back. The bench is often in the shade, a perfect place for a picnic. The distance from Levee Park in Red Wing to this point and back is 50 miles, which is convenient if you want an imperial half-century tour.
