Hiking

The station opened on May 15, 1879 under the name Drewitz. From 1949 to 1990 he was a border crossing point for goods traffic from the GDR to West Berlin. Numerous safety devices were installed for this purpose, such as special protective switches that were intended to prevent the locomotive driver from driving further in the direction of Berlin-Wannsee (American sector of Berlin). Among these protective switches were also some derailment switches, which only had a switch tongue and were intended to derail the train that was leaving without authorization.
