A very beautiful dry valley near Oberkochen.
The approx. 5 km long Tiefental is a dry valley of particular charm and is therefore also a landscape protection area. The valley floor is largely forest-free. About 2.5 km up the valley, the never-ending "Hubertusquelle" has its source at the layer boundary Weißjura Gamma/Delta (570 m above sea level). A small dammed pond is fed by it. After a few 100 m, the water seeps into the gravel bed of the Tiefental.
At the confluence of the Tiefental and the Urbrenztal, the "Fleinsquelle" rises when the water level is high. It shows that the Tiefental drains mainly to the Kocher.
