The construction of the Nikolaikirche began around 1280 and was completed by the end of the 14th century. After being destroyed in 1945 and demolished in 2004, it has been rebuilt since 2010. Visits are possible from May to September. Then there is not only the opportunity to look into the nave, but also to guides, but require prior notification. Since 2008, it is also possible to climb the tower (about 50m high, 233 steps) for a small fee to take a look from above at Anklam and its beautiful surroundings.
