In 2021, the district town of Seelow honored its honorary citizen Prof. Werner Stötzer (1931-2010) on the occasion of his 90th birthday by renaming the newly designed town hall forecourt to "Werner-Stötzer-Platz". The sculptor lived and worked for 30 years in the district of Altlangsow, where he is also buried. After many years in Berlin, a former vicarage with a garden, in which greenery was allowed to grow freely and wildly, became a refuge for the academy master.
In the same year, the bronze sculpture "Sitting" created by Werner Stötzer in 1970 was set up in front of the town hall in Seelow.
