This is a beautiful green passage through Nag's Head Wood, just south of Coomb Hill (within the same wood). There are wonderful views to the south over Ryedale from the eastern edge of the wood, too.

Hiking

Fabulous wood with easy track to follow, you can't get lost as it is paralleled by a big wire fence for some of its length. Follow the bridleway from east to west through the wood and you will emerge upon one of the most picturesque and tranquil vistas in the south-western part of the Moors, with a view west up Stony Gill Hole, flanked with plantations / woods and carpeted with short verdant grass. Absolute perfect spot for a picnic under the mature trees at the western edge of the wood.
