Stankau is located on both sides of the Radbuza.
Stankau was created through the merger of the towns of Dorf Stankau and Markt Stankau.
In 1960 Stankov was elevated to town status.
Worth seeing is the market square with the statue of St. John of Nepomuk,
the old town hall from the 18th century,
the church of James the Elder in Stankov 2. which can be reached via the Radbuza Bridge.
