There are beautiful pictures of the old hotel.
At that time (1911) there were even plans to build a narrow-gauge railway from Brig up to the hotel.
There are rumors that the hotel was deliberately burned down in 1972.

The Hotel Jungfrau am Eggishorn (with 100 beds) was built in 1856 by the Wellig brothers from Fiesch and opened in 1901. Unfortunately it burned down in 1972. A few ruins of the foundation wall remain.
