Milky Way Trail - End

The Milky Way shows the distances of various celestial bodies on a scale of 1:100 quadrillion, which is 10,000 light years per kilometer. At this scale, the Milky Way is 10 km across; The distance between the Earth and the center of the Milky Way at a distance of 25,000 light years is 2.5 km.

Beautiful path with interesting views

The Milky Way Trail runs for 4.5 km from Kirchsahr/Burgsahr to the Effelsberg radio telescope. The trail is varied and has information boards and leads westwards along paths, forest trails and partly along the babbling Holzemer stream. After 4.5 km you reach the information pavilion at the radio telescope in Effelsberg.
