Particularly worth seeing is the aqueduct outside the northern city wall, also built by the Turks in the 18th century, whose fragile-looking arches survived even the severe earthquake in 1979 almost unscathed. Along with the destroyed bridge of Mostar, it is considered one of the most important testimonies to the high level of Ottoman architecture.
